Customer Savings Example

Liquidware Stratusphere UX was leveraged by a large financial company to identify wasted vCPU and RAM in their VDI environment across 3,500 virtual workspaces. Over the course of seven days that were monitored, in a sample size of 69 workspaces, Stratusphere UX found nearly 13 vCPUs were consumed but not being utilized by users because the machines were disconnected but not logged off. According to the customer, their costs per vCPU is $200 per year per vCPU, or $2,511 in wasted vCPU. Additionally, these disconnected sessions were needlessly consuming more than 75GB of RAM at an annual cost of $70, equating to $5,239 in the sampled machines. The customer was able to invoke automatic actions and rules to automatically logoff disconnected machines after a select time interval. When these savings were aggregated across the entire VDI enterprise of 3,500 desktops the total savings was estimated at $475,900.
